Matthew Smyth is Director of Circular Services within the Circular Solutions business unit at Stora Enso. Originally from Canada, Matthew studied his bachelors in nanoscience at the University of Guelph with an additional certificate in business. Matthew then completed his Masters degree in Polymer and Fibre Engineering and a minor in product development at Aalto University in Finland. During the last 5 years, Matthew has worked in the rapidly evolving business unit now called Circular Solutions. Starting in the material development team for Stora Enso’s biocomposite, Matthew worked in testing the market and training the sales team. Matthew later moved on to manage the construction and then operation of the Stora Enso Biocompsite Competence Center. Today, Matthew works with the mandate to develop new tools and methods with which Stora Enso can create, and help our customers create circularity for materials and products.
