Mireia Fernández Bazán

Researcher, AIMPLAS - Technological Institute of Plastics
Fernández Bazán, Mireia: Graduate in Chemistry from the University of Valencia, with a master's degree in Sustainable Chemistry from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Researcher in the chemical recycling group at AIMPLAS since 2020. She has experience in the synthesis of polymers through low environmental impact routes, as well as in the organic synthesis of high added value additives from biomass. Currently his skills at AIMPLAS are focused on the valorisation of plastic waste through physical recycling such a dissolution and extraction processes, and chemical recycling techniques such as depolymerisation by solvolysis or thermochemical processes. In addition, she is member of the research group on flame retardants where she investigates the recovery of high added value flame retardant additives and the elimination of legacy substances from fireproof plastics waste.
