Thierry's career centers around using technology (mobile and fintech) to enable small businesses and the informal sector in developing countries. He is Director and founder of Circular Action BV, a sister company of BVRio that pioneered Plastic Credits and waste collection with waste pickers, paid for by FMCGs. The company uses its KOLEKT app to enable payments by multinationals to unbanked waste pickers on a per kilo basis. 

Before that he set up Mekar.id the first peer-to-peer lending platform in Indonesia. And before that BiD Network, the world's largest platform for matchmaking developing country startups with investors and mentors. Prior to that he was COO of EcoSecurities.com the worlds first broker of carbon credits for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. 

He lives near Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
